Learning from those who went before

Hello out there you chilly folks. Hope you are staying warm. We accept this day as one God has sent our way. Many are having to improvise their schedules. That is ok. No stress, just be smart and be safe. You have a lot of living yet in front of you.

I was reading from Bro Mark this morning and I must say we should praise God for Mark and his calling. God has used Him in so many ways to encourage and council individuals. Have you ever though about what it was like to be called and commissioned by the LORD Himself? We take these guys for granted but they face the same struggles we do and they remained so faithful. God incorporated their life story into His Word for us today. Treasure!

I just finished reading another book entitled “Am I Called”. Seems kind of funny that after 48 years in the Pastoral Ministry I would pick up and read this book now. It sure would have been more helpful 48 years ago but my Father knows best! Glad it made its way into my hands. So what did I gain from this book? Well knowing that I have seen many more sunrises than I have sunsets left, my role is to reproduce myself in others. I am and have been carrying the Gospel torch and my ministry is to help prepare others to take up the cross and carry it on. This book is one that I would highly recommend for individuals who have been called by God or are sensing a call by God in some Service of Christian ministry. Sure, you might be like me and say I have been in ministry for a long time, what can that book teach me? Well, if you allow God to lead you, I believe there is room for learning and investing in another’s life. Don’t short change God by thinking you have it all together!

Each one of us can invest ourselves in the lives around us and encourage them on their road of life. You are the blessing God is offering to them.
